Today's featured race is the 2005 Golden Corral 500 NASCAR Nextel Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The race was run on March 20th 2005. This race was significant in that it was Carl Edwards first career win in the Cup Series. He did so by passing Jimmie Johnson on the last corner of the last lap on old tires. It was also the season in which Jeremy Mayfield, and Dale Jarrett got their last wins. It was also the last season for Rusty Wallace.
