Today's featured sporting event is a July 24th 2001 MLB game between the Minnesota Twins and the Oakland Athletics; http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/OAK/OAK200107240.shtml. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_MLB_season. 2001 was the year that the Arizona Diamondbacks dethroned the three time defending champs New York Yankees in seven games. 2001 is significant in that this is the last time that the world series ended with the championship team winning game 7 walk-off style. This was also the year that the Seattle Mariners had the greatest win percentage in the history of Major League Baseball. Some stats for the season.
