The 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup season consisted of 36 races. The season started Feb. 18th with the Daytona 500, and ended Nov. 18th at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This was first year that the chase for the cup was the top 12 drivers in points after 26 races, and they were lined up by race wins, 10 points per win.
